SUPER-INVAR 32-5 LOW EXPASION ALLOY ASTM F1684
Super Invar 32-5 is Iron-Nickel-Cobalt alloy, consisting of 32% nickel, 5% cobalt, and balance iron. Super Invar Alloy exhibits minimum thermal expansion at room temperatures (one half of Invar 36 Alloy), as well as thermal expansion properties less than that of Invar 36 Alloy in the 67/203°F (-55/95°C) temperature range.
The alloy is first melted using Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) techniques. A secondary melt operation, Electro Slag Remelt (ESR), is then employed to further remove impurities and improve overall homogeneity.
